Let's dive into this venue's history, design, and amenities and explore why it's quickly becoming a top choice for both performers and concert-goers alike.
History
The Mission Ballroom may be Denver's newest music venue, but its history goes much further. It was developed by AEG Presents, one of the largest event promotion companies in the world, and opened its doors in August 2019.
The building that houses it was initially constructed in 1908 and served as a slaughterhouse and meatpacking plant for many years. In the early 2000s, the property was purchased by Denver-based developers Westfield Company and transformed into a mixed-use space with retail, office, and restaurant tenants.
In 2017, AEG Presents announced plans to build a new music venue in Denver and partnered with Westfield Company to convert the warehouse space into the world-class concert hall we know today. The Mission Ballroom's industrial heritage is still visible in its design, with exposed brick walls, steel beams, and a spacious floor plan allowing maximum flexibility and creativity in stage setup and audience configuration.
Atmosphere
The atmosphere at The Mission Ballroom is truly electric. From the minute you step inside, you're enveloped in a world of music, lights, and excitement. Despite its large capacity, the venue's unique design creates a sense of intimacy, with multiple levels and tiers that allow for great views from almost any vantage point.
The state-of-the-art sound system ensures that every note and beat can be heard and felt, and the lighting and visual effects add to the immersive experience. The audience at The Mission Ballroom is diverse, with people of all ages and backgrounds uniting to enjoy music in a safe and welcoming environment. In addition, the staff members are friendly and attentive, and the venue's commitment to sustainability and community engagement makes it feel like more than just a concert hall.
Amenities
The amenities at The Mission Ballroom are second to none. The venue offers a variety of options for food and drink, with multiple bars and food vendors throughout the space. The menu features many options, from classic stadium fares like hot dogs and pretzels to gourmet offerings like sushi and artisanal cocktails. It also has a coat check, ample restroom facilities, and a spacious smoking and outdoor area.
Accessibility is a top priority at The Mission Ballroom, so they provided designated ADA seating areas, accessible restrooms, and trained staff on hand to assist guests with disabilities. Additionally, the venue's location in the vibrant RiNo neighborhood means plenty of hotels, restaurants, and bars within walking distance, making it easy to turn a concert experience into a weekend getaway.
